Curated by WIA Historian Manisha Morar, this photo exhibition traces the lives and times of early Indian settlers in Wellington. Rare, never seen before photographs from personal collections, marking 90 years of the WIA and coinciding with India's Independence Day, this superbly presented exhibition contains over 100 photographs going back 80 years. The exhibition is story telling by powerful visuals to understand where WIA came from and to appreciate where we are today. A must if you are of Indian heritage; a must if you are from Wellington and certainly a must if you are interested in multiculturalism in New Zealand. The opening ceremony will be held 9:30am 15th August. |
