WIA – Gujarati Pre-School

The aim of WIA Gujarati Pre-School is to encourage better understanding of the Gujarati language and to propagate the understanding of Indian culture.

Gujarati Pre-School falls under the umbrella of WIA therefore PARENTS MUST BE A WIA MEMBER. The pre-school is located at 48 Kemp Street next to the WISC gym.

The preschool is run by a committee of parents who dedicate their time to ensure a smooth running of the preschool. It caters for ages 0-6 year old. Parents are required to stay with children during pre-school hours

Children and parents are introduced to colors, shapes, numbers, animals etc. The Pre-school celebrates all the main festivals by planning activities around the festival. eg:  Holi - play with colors and water, Ganpati Chaut make ladva etc.

In addition the pre-school plans a number of field trips throughout the year to make everyone's time is enjoyable and memorable eg:  Zoo trip, Karori wildlife, TePapa visit, Bus trip etc.

Gujarati Pre-Schools operating hours are from 9:15am – 12.15pm every Sunday except school holidays and public holidays.

The school timetable is as follows:

9:15 to 9:30

 

Free Time

9:30 to 10:15

 

Structured class time

10:15 to 10:30

 

Morning Tea

10:30 to 11:15

 

Mandir session – Dhoons, prayers and religious stories are told

11:15 to 12:15

 

Activity in relation to theme of the day

12:15

 

Rashtra Geet (Indian National Anthem) is sung
