About us

The Wellington Indian Association (WIA) is a community organization that aims to promote Indian culture and heritage in Wellington, New Zealand.

It was established in 1925 and has since been actively involved in organising various events and festivals throughout the year, including Namaste Wellington, Holi, and Navratri.

The association also provides support and assistance to the Indian community in Wellington, such as offering language classes, health & fitness classes, and senior activities.

Moreover, the Wellington Indian Association collaborates with other organisations to promote multiculturalism and diversity in the city. Overall, the WIA plays a significant role in fostering a sense of community and connecting Indians in Wellington.
